You
Using UTF is free. You're never charged to get matched, to compare offers, or to choose one — not a fee, not a subscription, not a "premium" tier.
No hidden agenda
A marketplace only earns your trust if you can see how it works. So here is exactly how we make money, with nothing left out — including the part most sites bury.
The short version
Using UTF is free. You're never charged to get matched, to compare offers, or to choose one — not a fee, not a subscription, not a "premium" tier.
We match you with lenders from our network. We don't set your rate and we don't mark it up — the number you see is the number the lender set.
Lenders and partners may pay us when you're matched, submit an application, or choose an offer — depending on their agreement with us. That's how UTF stays free for you.
Follow the money
The whole picture in one line — no part of it hidden.
You never pay UTF. Lenders and partners may pay us when you're matched, apply, or choose an offer — never before you've engaged with the service.
What it means for you
Because lenders and partners — not you — pay us, the service stays free. You're not signing a loan with UTF, but you do agree to our Terms of Use and Privacy Notice when you use the service. UTF isn't the one lending you money; we're the one helping you find it.
And because we never add anything to your rate, comparing through UTF costs you nothing extra. The cost you see on each offer is the cost the lender set — your only job is to pick the one that fits.
How offers are shown
Some lenders and partners pay us more than others, and that can affect which lenders appear and in what order. We disclose it here because hiding it would defeat the point.
What it never affects is the rate or terms a lender offers you — those are set by the lender, based on your application. Not all applicants will qualify for an offer.
The fine print, un-buried
UTF is an advertising marketplace. We may be compensated by lenders and partners when you're matched or when you choose an offer. This compensation may affect which lenders appear and how — but it never changes the rate or terms a lender offers you. For the full legal version, see our Advertising Disclosure.
Most companies tuck this onto a page nobody reads. We gave it its own, in plain words — because a marketplace that promises transparency can't be a black box about its own incentives. If you ever can't tell how we make money, we've failed at the one thing we're for.
One request. Real offers. Every number — including ours — in plain sight.
